Performance
The FlightAware Pro Stick performed excellent in our rural testing location when provided with a clear sky. While testing was not performed in the immediate vicinity of high powered or dense arrays of radio transmitters, we did see increased noise impacting signals while testing in our urban environment. For anyone operating in a environment where increased radio interference cannot be avoided, take a look at the FlightAware Pro Stick Plus as a direct alternative.
Value
We tested the FlightAware Pro Stick at £45. We feel this offers an excellent price for the performance offered.
Compatibility
The FlightAware Pro Stick is fully plug and play compatible with Flyt Node hardware and no additional setup or configuration is required.
Summary
The FlightAware Pro Stick is an excellent choice for use with your Flyt Node, benefiting from it’s integrated amplifier and the excellent R820T2 chip. If you are in a high noise area, such as a city center, we suggest looking at the FlightAware Pro Stick Plus as an alternative, featuring the same hardware with a 1090MHz filter helping to remove unwanted interference. Otherwise, head straight for this model which offers lower insertion loss and marginally improved signal strength. A well deserved rating for this excellent receiver.
